Just saw a message of which McCain approved in which he blamed the Democrats for high gasoline prices in Ohio because the Dems won’t allow offshore drilling.
At least he doesn’t have a law degree. If he did I might feel compelled to tear up my Master’s diploma in the face of incontrovertible evidence that advanced degrees in the US don’t necessarily mean a goddam thing.
Okay, then, here’s the logic:
The Pubs have been in bed with the oil industry since 1870, creating and abetting the oil trusts (and doing away with viable rail service so the country would become dependent on internal combustion engines), including how the US, with its oil reserves, relates with the Middle East. The Pubs have been poking the hornet’s nest that is the Middle East since the 1970s and have backed an illegal and immoral war on Iraq, depleting our budgets and our people. They have continued to foul our water, air, and land and refused to promote ecological alternative sources of power. The Vice President is in bed with Halliburton, a company that would benefit from offshore drilling—which would foul our oceans even more (and the GOP VP candidate is in bed with those who would benefit from drilling in pristine Alaskan wilderness). John McCain has voted with GW Bush 90 to 95% of the time. And Ohio’s energy woes are the fault of the Democrats.
Uh huh.
I should tear up my high-school diploma, considering that the person who wrote that commercial probably has one.
Why did I bother getting an education if these people are able to wield so much influence by abusing theirs?
