I’m sorry, but I must count myself among those who say that it’s just unmitigated hypocrisy that a vice presidential candidate who bars the teaching of birth control in schools would be running while her minor daughter living under her roof is carrying a child conceived out of wedlock.
I’ve never seen so much backpedaling by Republicans in all my life! “We condemn it but at least we’re glad she’s not getting an abortion…” Sheesh! I have four words to say about this:
1. Sargent 2. Shriver 3. Bill 4. Clinton.
Goddam Republicans can dish it out, but they can’t take it. They’re gonna completely minimize the significance of this matter. Their rhetoric is good when it suits them, but they weasel out from under it when it’s An Inconvenient Truth.
If the status of relationships in the Palin household is “a family matter,” then I insist that the right to marry the person of the sex one wants is a family, matter, too. And don’t even talk to me about adoption. You’ve forfeited that right as far as I’m concerned.
But what do I expect? The Pubs sacrificed the last of their moral high ground at Abu Ghraib, the buck for which stops at the top.
